DNA test experience survey 2014

Please click below to take this short survey on your satisfaction with DNA testing for genealogy. It's a repeat of a survey conducted here last April. Have things changed, and for the better or worse?

I was really disappointed with mine,as nobody else has got the a similar signature it kind of stops in mid flow so after waiting nearly 6 months for the results, I still know nothing apart from being of Germanic descent.
It's also not explained that different companies use different letters to mean the same thing, so unless you are quite well informed,it's very difficult to compare with other peoples.
Does anybody have any advice on a good website that explains all this, for dummies?

The best resource is the ISOGG Wiki:

Check out in particular the articles on the page with all the beginners' guides:

I LIKE Debbie's comment. ISOGG is a great resource and all free. Look for the link there to the DNA-Newbie mailing list - many will find that useful, and do see if a nearby genealogical society has a DNA Special Interest Group.
