Parish records for Welsh counties index on FamilySearch

On September 27 the Welsh counties: Anglesey, Brecknockshire, Caernarvonshire, Cardiganshire, Carmarthenshire, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Glamorganshire, Merionethshire, Monmouthshire (in Wales?), Pembrokeshire, Radnorshire had indexes to Parish Registers, 1538-1912 added at FamilySearch.org. Cooperation between Find My Past and FamilySearch makes the indexes available with links to FMP and the full record, often the original record image, on a commercial basis.

I have the 1862 Copi Dilys o Gofnod Genedigaeth for my great-grandmother who was born in Newport and christened at St Woolos. She'd tell you she was most definitely born in Wales, and she told the census the same!

It's a sensitive area. I have an Ottawa friend who celebrates everything Welsh, who was born in Bedwas, right up against the border with Glamorganshire, when Monmouthshire was legally in England.
